Question: I'm going on a carnival cruise to cozumel mx and stopping in keywest too. should i buy excursions from cruise?

I bought 1 excursion in Cozumel called Isla Pasion for $65 which is 5 hours. I'm still going to have 3 hours after I come back from there in Cozumel before Cruise leaves and 6 1/ 2 hours in keywest too. Should I book my excursions through carnival or can i get a cheaper deal there. Also, can I bargain over there with the people? What's the best way to do this?

Go to CruiseCritic.com and click on "Boards " then go to "Ports of Call " to find info from experienced cruisers on your ports of call. Key West and Coz are both easy and safe to do on your own, as long as you remember to leave enough time to get back to the ship about one hour before sailing. They won't wait for you if you're late. In Coz, I would suggest that you go to Chankanaab Park or one of the beach clubs south of town. It's easy to get a cab there and back. But you've already got a plan, so.... As the other person said, you won't really have three hours. Unless you're docked at the "downtown " pier, you'll have to get to town if you want to shop there and get back to the ship in plenty of time. You can bargain with the vendors. Be prepared for the "hounding " by the vendors, though. If you look the slightest bit interested, and even if you don't, they'll be right on you to buy. In Key West it's fun to just walk around. Do a search on "Key West tourism " and you'll get lots of leads.

Allow the extra time in Coz for shopping in the open markets. You really will not have 3 extra hours due to the time for debarkation to the port, gathering the guests and traveling to and from the excursion site. Isla Passion is on the northern part of the island. The Shipwreck museum and aquarium are fun in Key West but you can walk up from the pier and get tickets to these venues. Skip the trolley ride..boring and hot! Don't miss some of the great Key Lime Pie in the bakeries! in Key West. If you like the Isla Passion, you might like the White Knuckle Experience in KW.
